Job Description

A Food and beverage server is the front-line representative of a dining or hospitality establishment, responsible for delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations in the dining area.

Main Duties are

  • Take and process orders accurately, including modifications, allergen notes, and special requests
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and neatly to tables, ensuring items are presented attractively and safely
  • Maintain menu knowledge and be able to answer guest questions about items, specials, and dietary options
  • Set up and reset tables before and after shifts according to outlet standards
  • Manage service areas efficiently, including clearing plates, refilling water, and providing napkins
  • Process payments accurately, handling cash, credit/debit cards, room charges, and corporate billing . Must be able to use a POS System.
  • Respond to customers requests promptly and courteously, addressing concerns or special needs
  • Follow health and safety protocols, such as proper food handling and hygiene, often requiring Serv Safe or Food Handler certification
  • Comply with alcohol service laws if serving alcohol, including TABC or TIPS certification

Service and Customer Experience

  • Provide polite, respectful, and attentive service to create a positive customer impression
  • Ensure timely service to meet customer expectations and maintain a smooth dining flow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the dining area
  • This is a tip based role, earn tips from customers, which can significantly impact total earnings

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Communication skills for clear, friendly interaction with guests.
  • Physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Menu knowledge and ability to handle special dietary needs.
  • Attention to detail for accurate orders and service quality.
  • Teamwork and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work long hours. Late nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Valid Cayman Islands Drivers license is preferred
