This role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities
Food prep: Portion, chop, slice, and prep ingredients for assigned dishes
Cooking: Prepare menu items using various cooking methods (grilling, frying, sauteing) following recipes and maintaining quality standards
Plating: Assemble dishes according to presentation specifications
Station setup and maintenance: Ensure the designated work area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies before, during, and after service
Cleaning and sanitation: Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment by following food safety protocols and cleaning equipment and surfaces
Inventory control: Participate in inventory checks and maintain food storage logs
Report any maintenance or repairs needed to Management
Be willing to learn new skills and techniques
Follow restaurant, safety and security policies, rules and regulations as set forth by Management
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Management
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role in fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong understanding of cooking techniques and principles
Demonstrate professional skills in safe handling of knives, tools, and equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality
Excellent understanding of food handling and safety and sanitation principles
Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Available to work flexible hours, including on Public Holidays, weekends and evenings
