Mason / Tiler Job Summary A Mason/Tiler is responsible for installing tiles, bricks, concrete blocks, marble, granite, and other materials on floors, walls, ceilings, and outdoor surfaces. The role includes surface preparation, measuring layouts, cutting materials, and ensuring high-quality finishes according to construction plans and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled or constructed. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying adhesives or mortar. Cut tiles, bricks, or stone materials to fit around edges and fixtures. Install floor tiles, wall tiles, paving stones, marble, granite, and masonry units. Mix cement, grout, mortar, and other construction materials. Repair or replace damaged tiles and masonry work. Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and finishing. Maintain tools and equipment in good condition. Follow workplace safety procedures and construction regulations. Requirements Proven experience as a mason, tiler, or similar construction role. Knowledge of tiling techniques, masonry tools, and construction materials. Ability to read measurements and technical drawings. Physical strength and stamina for lifting and standing long hours. Attention to detail and craftsmanship skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic knowledge of health and safety practices. Preferred Qualifications Vocational training or certification in masonry or tiling. Experience with residential and commercial projects.
