Job Description

We are a newly established boutique law firm in the Cayman Islands, focused on complex commercial litigation and insolvency matters within the financial services sector. Eldridge Legal LLP is founded by a team of prominent market leading experts and former members of the litigation team of the world’s largest offshore law firm. We are building a top-tier boutique firm: focused, nimble, highly selective, and uncompromising on quality. The Role We are looking for an attorney with strong experience in Cayman Islands financial services disputes, including insolvency-related litigation. What We Are Looking For

  • At least 10 years’ post-qualification experience in financial services litigation including at least 6 years in the Cayman Islands
  • Experience in funds, public and other companies, structured finance, special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) including in connection with stakeholder disputes
  • Experience in contentious and non-contentious restructurings, liquidations, and receiverships
  • Experience in cross border matters
  • Finance qualifications
  • Strong technical grounding
  • Excellent written and analytical skills
  • Comfortable developing strategy as well as executing on it
  • Motivated, accountable and intellectually curious

Duties

  • Drafting correspondence and high-level written advice
  • Researching and drafting court documents including pleadings, affidavits and submissions
  • Managing research and discovery exercises
  • Supervising junior attorneys and paralegals

We are particularly interested in candidates who are comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. What We Offer The role offers a salary of USD $280,000–$320,000, comprehensive health insurance, five weeks’ annual leave, and statutory pension benefits. Location and hours The role will be based in George Town and is a full-time role (8:30am to 5pm).
