Tailor & Assistant Decorator

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tailor & Assistant Decorator to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who combines technical expertise, creative vision, and strong business acumen to deliver exceptional results across both garment construction and interior design support. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on combined experience in tailoring and interior design, demonstrating a proven ability to execute high-quality work and teamwork while maintaining excellent client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, draft, cut, and construct custom garments, ensuring precise measurements, exceptional fit, and superior craftsmanship
• Perform complex alterations and repairs on a wide range of curtains, cushions and bespoke pieces
• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials based on design requirements, durability, and client preferences
• Apply advanced tailoring techniques such as linings, interfacing, pleating, darts, zippers, hemming, and hand-finishing details
• Create patterns and modify existing templates to meet unique client specifications
• Assist in interior decorating projects, including space preparation, styling, and installation support
• Support the lead decorator in developing design concepts, color schemes, and material selections
• Measure and assess spaces accurately to assist with layouts, furnishings, and installations
• Design, fabricate, and install soft furnishings such as curtains, cushions, and decorative accents
• Apply upholstery techniques to furniture and décor items, ensuring durability and visual appeal
• Source fabrics, trims, and décor materials while maintaining quality and budget requirements
• Assist with on-site installations, staging, and final presentation of interior spaces
• Maintain detailed records of client measurements, materials, and project specifications
• Ensure all work meets high standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal
• Troubleshoot tailoring and decorating challenges with practical and creative solutions
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
• Follow health, safety, and workplace standards in both workshop and on-site environments
• Demonstrates clear, respectful, and professional communication with both clients and staff.
• Work under pressure, handle stressful situations and maintain flexibility.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in tailoring and interior design (10+ years preferred)
• Certification in Interior Design and Interior & Spatial Design
• Bachelor’s Certificate in Business Management
• Customer Service Certification
• Diploma in Cutting & Dressmaking, including sewing and tailoring techniques
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and interior finishes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking
• Ability to manage tasks from concept to completion
