Job Description

The HVAC Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of the hotel’s air conditioning, ventilation and related mechanical systems. This role supports the day-to-day functionality of guest areas, back-of-house spaces and selected refrigeration support equipment by carrying out preventative maintenance, troubleshooting faults and responding promptly to operational and guest service requests. The position also contributes to repair projects, safety compliance and the overall upkeep of the property in line with hotel standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Maintain, inspect and repair HVAC, ventilation and air conditioning systems to support continuous hotel operations.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on AC systems, filters, coils, electrical fittings and circulation pressure pumps.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and perform corrective repairs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Service kitchen-related cooling support equipment, including indoor and outdoor units associated with walk-in chillers and blast chillers.
  • Carry out routine operating checks to ensure all systems are functioning safely, efficiently and in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks, repairs and renovation works as directed by management.
  • Identify maintenance concerns that may affect safety, security or operational performance and take appropriate action or report them immediately.
  • Respond promptly to guest, manager and departmental requests, delivering service in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Organize workload effectively and prioritize urgent repairs alongside planned maintenance tasks.
  • Work cooperatively with the maintenance team and other hotel colleagues to support smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance while on duty and observe workplace standards at all times.
  • Be flexible to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays and to assist with emergency or other operational duties when required.
  • Perform any other reasonable job-related duties assigned by management.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be exposed to a noisy, humid, and hot environment. Temperatures will vary depending on the weather
  • Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule, including working outside of normal business hours (i.e. evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as needed).
  • Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects.
  • Frequently lift 25lbs, occasionally lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk throughout work shift to accomplish tasks
