Chief Financial Officer – Reinsurance Group

Job description International reinsurance group seeks a CFO responsible for finance, capital management, regulatory reporting, rating agency relationships, board reporting, treasury, governance, and strategic initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities of this role

• Lead and provide execu ve-level oversight of corporate finance ac vi es, including

financial repor ng, accoun ng governance, regulatory compliance, capital management, actuarial analysis, and strategic financial advisory, preferably within the insurance, reinsurance, or broader financial services sector.

• Oversee financial repor ng and accoun ng processes, including the prepara on,

review, and valida on of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable accoun ng standards, tax regula ons, solvency requirements, and corporate governance obliga ons.

• Direct budge ng, forecas ng, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), stress testing, and capital planning processes, including the development and maintenance of complex financial models to support business performance evalua on, solvency monitoring, capital adequacy, and strategic decision-making.
• Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls, manage internal and

external audit processes, and coordinate effec vely with external auditors, legal advisers, regulators, ra ng agencies, actuarial consultants, and other professional stakeholders.

• Provide oversight of actuarial and reserving activities, including the review and

validation of loss reserves, claims development trends, technical provisions, IBNR and RBNS assessments, and reinsurance portfolio performance.

• Support external credit rating processes by preparing rating agency submissions,

financial projections, capital and solvency analyses, and management presentations,while serving as a key liaison with rating agency analysts.

• Ensure compliance with Cayman Islands regulatory requirements applicable to

insurance and reinsurance entities, including regulatory reporting, solvency and capital adequacy monitoring, preparation of filings, and engagement with relevant regulatory authorities.

• Deliver strategic financial leadership and board-level advisory support, leveraging

strong analytical judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills to provide guidance and recommendations to senior management, the Chairman, and the Board of Directors.

Required skills and experience

Minimum requirements

• 15+ years' experience in insurance or reinsurance finance.
• Minimum 5 years in a CFO or equivalent executive leadership role.
• Demonstrated Solvency II expertise.
• Experience interacting directly with AM Best and external regulators.
• Experience overseeing finance functions across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Experience reporting to boards and board committees.
• Professional designation such as CFA, FIA, CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of reinsurance accounting, capital management, and regulatory frameworks.
• Cayman Islands and international travel required.
• Bachelor’s in finance
