Assisting the doctors with day-to-day preventive health care, medical and surgical management of a variety of animal patients of different species. He/she will supervise a team of veterinary assistants to ensure that the best quality patient services are delivered. Will assist with Practice Management activities to secure the efficient and effective operation of the facility. Will assist the doctors in training veterinary technicians to increase technical competencies among staff. Will assist in building strong and lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Must posses a Bachelor's or an Associate degree in Veterinary Nursing or Equivalent with at least 7 years of Clinical practice experience in one or more accredited full-service Veterinary Hospital(s) and must have at least 2 years of leadership/management experience. License in good standing in country in which currently domiciled. Eligibility for Licensure/Registration with the Cayman Islands Veterinary Board
Ability and flexibility to respond to after-hours medical and surgical emergencies, as required. Ability to work independently and well in a culturally diverse setting of staff and clients. Supervision of Customer services. A High level of maturity, professionalism, initiative, integrity and confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and presentation skills. Proven technical veterinary skill sets, as well as proficiency at managing the care and maintenance of medical and surgical equipment. Capable of first response management of critical care patients as well as conducting general procedures during emergencies.
