Job Description

Overview

To ensure KFC standards and procedures are used in all work, including food preparation; cleanliness; hospitality; accuracy; maintenance; product and speed of service. Must follow food & safety program; be able to lift up to 45lbs; clean assigned area and carry out any other related duties. Person may take customer orders from time to time, deliver inventory between stores occasionally and help unload containers once or twice a month (approximately).

General responsibilities

  • Ability to work with raw products (poultry and vegetables) and flour
  • Ability to work in hot or cold environments
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Clean, marinate, bread and prepare chicken using food preparation equipment including ovens, fryers, grills and various kitchen equipment
  • Follow food inventory program and minimize waste through effective food handling practices
  • Receive and store food supplies, ensuring that they are properly labeled and stored at the correct temperature
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
  • Prepare ingredients for use in cooking, including washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring they are clean and in good working order
  • Restocking product and workstations
  • Maintaining a clean work environment by completing general cleaning tasks inside or outside the restaurant
  • Cleaning the kitchen and workstations or equipment, washing dishes, cleaning dining areas and restrooms, as well as sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
  • Other duties from time to time, as directed by Manager or Supervisory staff on duty

Requirements

  • Prior F&B or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) experience an asset
  • Minimum High School graduation certificate
  • Must have a clean police clearance certificate with no criminal charges
  • English proficiency
  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Hospitality to interact & work well with a multi-cultural team and customer base
  • Written, numeracy & computer skills
  • Meet tight food prep & production timelines
  • Ability to work split shifts, weekends & holidays between all KFC locations as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A valid food handler’s certificate needed, or the willingness to acquire once hired
  • Must pass KFC corporate training certification tests at the required levels
  • Valid Cayman Islands drivers license is an asset
