Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Must be an experienced cabinet maker/installer. Makes and installs cabinets as per approved shop drawings efficiently using woodworking machinery and tools while maintaining the quality set by the company, which is high-end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble cabinets and do installations as per KWWoodwork Ltd. standard.
  • Able to custom-build pieces efficiently.
  • Operation of woodworking machines and use of hand tools to cut, shape, and form wood.
  • Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges, handles, and all other accessories, and advise the office when replacement materials are needed.
  • Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units.
  • Glue laminate or veneer on substrate per KWWoodwork Ltd. standard.
  • Ensure attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
  • Construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure all pieces match the dimensions specified on the approved shop drawings.
  • Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time.
  • Ensure all cabinet parts and hardware are complete before going to the site (e.g., fillers, slides, etc.)
  • Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting the completion of the job to the Supervisor.
  • Reports the following regularly:

o status of current job/project – percentage of completion daily o if there are issues with machines/tools – whether lost, broken, stolen, etc. o if there are vehicle issues

  • Strictly adheres to site schedules.
  • Follow specific instructions given, if any, to complete projects.
  • Make sure to communicate any changes made, if any, to projects.
  • Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
  • Any other related task as required, compliant with manufacturing requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of building materials
  • Must have a strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Ability to problem-solve to achieve design intent
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced (deadline-driven) environment
  • Must have experiences on cabinet making tools/machineries
  • Workplace Safety Training and/or CPR/AED, and/or Fire Safety Training are an advantage.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday from 7:30 am to 12 pm may be required Work Experience: at least 5-10 years Salary Rate: 11KYD to 25KYD hourly rate, depending on the experience
