M & M Group of Companies Ltd. T/A Convenience Shop y Mas invites applications for the position of Multi-Purpose Clerk. This is a physically demanding, customer-facing position within a busy 24-hour convenience store. The successful applicant will be expected to perform a broad range of cashiering, customer service, merchandising, stocking, cleaning, inventory control, and general retail duties while maintaining the Employer's operational standards at all times. As the business operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the successful applicant must be fully available to work rotating shifts as scheduled by the Employer. Overnight shifts (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) are an essential requirement of this position. The successful applicant must also be available to work day shifts, evening shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime from time to time as required to meet the operational needs of the business. Shift schedules may vary from week to week. Background Convenience Shop y Mas operates continuously, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The successful applicant must be able to work independently during overnight shifts, maintain a high standard of customer service, and ensure the store remains clean, fully stocked, safe, and operational throughout each shift. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Working any assigned shift, including overnight, weekend, public holiday, and overtime shifts as required. Operating the ShopKeep Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently. Processing cash, debit card, credit card, and other approved payment transactions in accordance with company procedures. Handling cash responsibly, issuing correct change, balancing the cash register at the end of each shift, and maintaining accurate cash records. Greeting customers courteously and providing prompt, professional customer service. Assisting customers with enquiries and resolving customer concerns in a professional manner. Receiving, unpacking, pricing, rotating, stocking, replenishing, and merchandising products throughout the store. Restocking shelves, refrigerators, freezers, beverage displays, and promotional displays to ensure merchandise is fully available throughout each shift. Monitoring stock levels and promptly reporting shortages, damaged goods, pricing discrepancies, or inventory concerns. Maintaining accurate counts of cigarettes, top-up balances, gift cards, lottery products (where applicable), and other controlled inventory items. Assisting with inventory counts and stock control procedures. Maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation of the premises throughout each shift, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, emptying rubbish bins, cleaning shelving, refrigerators, freezers, coffee machines, food warmers, microwaves, counters, display units, customer washrooms, staff facilities, and stockroom areas. Performing routine and deep cleaning duties to maintain company hygiene and food safety standards. Keeping the stockroom clean, organised, and free from safety hazards. Assisting with deliveries and safely lifting, carrying, unpacking, and moving merchandise between storage areas and the sales floor. Creating and maintaining attractive merchandise displays to maximise sales and maintain the appearance of the store. Complying with all company policies and procedures relating to cash handling, customer service, inventory control, health and safety, food safety, security, and loss prevention. Immediately reporting any theft, attempted theft, fraud, suspicious activity, cash shortages, inventory discrepancies, accidents, maintenance issues, security concerns, or breaches of company policy to management and cooperating fully with any internal or external investigation. Working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and operational standards. Performing any other duties reasonably assigned by management in accordance with the operational requirements of the business. Qualifications and Requirements Full availability to work rotating day, evening, and overnight shifts is an essential requirement. Must be available to work weekends, public holidays, and overtime from time to time as required by the Employer. Previous experience in a convenience store, supermarket, or retail environment is preferred. Previous cashiering experience is preferred. Previous experience operating the ShopKeep Point of Sale (POS) system or a similar retail POS system is preferred. Excellent attendance, punctuality, reliability, and work ethic. Demonstrated honesty, integrity, accountability, and professionalism. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong numerical ability and cash handling skills with a high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. Ability to remain standing and walking for extended periods throughout each shift. Ability to regularly lift, carry, move, and stock merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive physical duties, including bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing steps, stocking shelves, unloading deliveries, operating retail equipment, cleaning equipment, and maintaining the premises throughout each shift. Reliable transportation to and from work, including overnight shifts. Ability to learn and comply with company policies, operational procedures, security procedures, and loss prevention measures. Must provide a clean police record prior to commencement of employment.
