Private Chef/Home Caretaker

A personal employer is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Private Chef/Home Caretaker to provide personalized culinary services and oversee the general care, organization, security, and upkeep of the employer’s private residences in Grand Cayman and overseas. The position requires a high degree of trust, discretion, reliability, and personal responsibility due to the confidential nature of private household employment. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently, exercising sound judgment, respecting personal and property security, and maintaining strict confidentiality regarding the employer’s personal affairs, household arrangements, travel schedules, guests, and private residences. The role combines professional culinary duties with household caretaking and property oversight. Accordingly, the employer requires an individual with demonstrable professional chef experience, previous private-household experience, and the ability to provide consistent, reliable support across multiple residences and during international travel. Key Responsibilities Culinary Services

• Plan and prepare daily meals, menus, snacks, and refreshments according to the employer’s preferences and dietary requirements.
• Prepare meals for guests and support private entertaining arrangements as required.
• Source ingredients, manage food inventories, and maintain appropriate food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Maintain an organized kitchen and monitor household food supplies.

Household Caretaking and Property Oversight

• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and general presentation of the residences, including light housekeeping, laundry, and household linens.
• Monitor and replenish groceries, cleaning materials, and household supplies.
• Conduct routine property checks and identify maintenance requirements or potential security concerns.
• Ensure that property access points are properly secured and handle keys and access arrangements responsibly.
• Coordinate authorized maintenance, repairs, deliveries, and contractor visits.
• Maintain the residences during the employer’s absence and prepare them for the employer’s return.
• Assist with guest accommodation and household arrangements as required.

Confidentiality and Professional Conduct

• Maintain strict confidentiality concerning the employer’s personal affairs, family matters, residences, visitors, travel arrangements, and household operations.
• Exercise discretion and sound judgment when interacting with guests, contractors, and other service providers.
• Safeguard private household information, property, keys, access credentials, and personal belongings.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and comply with reasonable household security procedures.
• Perform duties independently while demonstrating integrity, reliability, and respect for the employer’s privacy.

Travel and Flexibility

• Travel as required to provide culinary and household support at residences in Grand Cayman and overseas.
• Adapt to varying household requirements and travel schedules.
• Work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required by the employer’s schedule and household needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years of professional chef experience in an established restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Previous experience working as a private or personal chef in a private household is essential.
• Demonstrable experience preparing meals according to individual preferences and maintaining high standards of food safety and kitchen organization.
• Previous household caretaking or housekeeping experience, including laundry and coordination of property maintenance, is preferred.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage culinary and household responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated discretion, integrity, reliability, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Provision of relevant professional references and verification of employment history, subject to applicable requirements.

Employment Terms

• Monthly Salary: KYD $2,100.
• Accommodation: Live-in accommodation provided by the employer.
