The Quality Child Care Teacher must align with high-quality care, teaching and learning for children aged 15 months to 5 years. Key responsibilities include: Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning aligned with the Cayman Islands Early Years Curriculum Framework (CIEYCF). Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development. Provide purposeful, high-quality indoor and outdoor learning opportunities. Select suitable resources and adapt teaching to meet children’s individual needs and interests. Observe, assess and accurately document children’s progress, using findings to plan appropriate next steps. Maintain a safe, inclusive, nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Follow all safeguarding, health, hygiene and safety procedures. Support children’s personal-care routines, mealtimes, independence and positive behaviour. Use age-appropriate technology to enhance and differentiate learning. Build positive, professional relationships with children, families and colleagues. Communicate children’s progress and needs sensitively with parents and relevant staff. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent meetings, extracurricular activities and school events. Work collaboratively, reflect on practice and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement and high standards. Maintain confidentiality, accurate records and professional conduct at all times.
