We are looking for a driven and hardworking Audit Senior Manager to join our growing Audit team at HLB Berman Fisher. An individual who is committed to career growth, with a professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, ACA) and who has a solid foundation of audit experience including audit experience in the Cayman Islands within the Cayman Fund industry. The candidate must possess experience auditing digital asset funds and companies in the Cayman Islands. The successful candidate must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills that will provide them with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. Possessing a strong client service focus is imperative. The individual will work with a team of audit seniors and report directly to the Audit Director/ Partner on audits of investment funds, insurance captives, VASPs and service organisations. Being able to manage a team, coach, train employees and possess a high level of experience in Cayman investment funds is essential. The individual must be a team player and understand that the position will call for significant hours of overtime during the busy season.

The role

  • Audit planning and recognition of significant audit risks
  • Understanding audit assertions and risks
  • Ability to follow an audit plan and execute audit procedures to address audit risks
  • Calculating audit material and performing and reviewing substantive audit tests on material balances
  • Performing tests of control on client’s systems
  • Maintaining professional skepticism and acting with due care
  • Valuing different investment types and vehicles
  • Identifying and analyzing discrepancies and errors
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements in terms of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Consistently providing clear & concise audit findings
  • Working in a team
  • Understanding complex digital assets
  • Understanding the audit risks associated with digital asset audits including VASPs
  • Providing training to staff on digital asset audits
  • Bringing a range of on island contacts in the financial services industry

Requirements

  • An internationally recognized professional accountancy qualification (CA, CPA, or ACA) is required, not optional.
  • Minimum 6 years of audit experience in external audit services and an understanding of auditing private equity investments and digital assets. This experience should include a minimum of 3 years of management experience in audit
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP)
  • A good understanding of the fund structures in the Cayman Islands
  • A good knowledge of crypto and digital assets and an understanding of the audit risks and procedures required for the audit of these structures
  • Experience leading the planning, execution, and reporting on audits
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and collaborative approach to management. A commitment to quality and client service
  • A positive hard-working attitude

  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Attention to detail
  • Time and priority management

Full-time – Job ID: M6E5M4 - Monday to Friday 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)

Compensation and benefits

Salary range: US$110,000 – US$120,000 per annum depending on experience. Monday to Friday 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
