Dishwasher

This position is responsible for performing a variety of kitchen duties, as directed by their supervisor, which include, but are not limited to, cleaning plates, utensils, pots & pans, mopping, removing garbage, and transporting dishes as needed by the culinary department. Performs duties in compliance with established Company policies and procedures and performs in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Washes and maintains dishes, silverware, glassware, and cooking equipment (pots, pans, etc.)
• Stores and supplies departments with dishes, silverware, glassware, and cooking equipment.
• Maintains kitchen back-of-house area cleanliness throughout shift.
• Assists in the collection of all dishes, silverware, and glassware for banquet events and has them delivered to the appropriate areas.
• Set up a breakdown area and assist in the breakdown and clean-up of all dirty dishes returning from an event space, and assist in the breakdown of side stations, buffets, and back-of-the-house areas
• Unloading and storing deliveries.
• Sweeping and mopping floors, especially if items are broken or spilled.
• Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans. Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks as needed.
• Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety procedures.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and follow instructions, coordinate with kitchen staff, and maintain a polite, professional demeanor around back-of-house and sometimes near guests.
• Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule, including working outside of normal business hours (i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays, as needed).
• Performs all end-of-shift duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene rules, proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Physical ability to lift heavy racks or waste bins (often up to 50lbs) stand for extended periods, and navigate outdoor/indoor spaces.
• May be exposed to a noisy, humid, and hot environment. Temperatures will vary depending on the weather.
