Job Description

Moon Light Cayman Ltd. T/A The Chill Spot is currently seeking a skilled, passionate, and experienced Chef specializing in authentic Jamaican cuisine to join our culinary team in Savannah, Bodden Town. The ideal candidate must be capable of maintaining high-quality food preparation standards while working efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present authentic Jamaican dishes including jerk meats, curries, stews, soups, seafood, rice dishes, and traditional sides. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality. Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals during service hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and food preparation areas. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations. Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and assist with ordering supplies when necessary. Coordinate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Supervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and service periods. Assist with menu planning, recipe improvements, and daily kitchen operations. Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and efficient working environment.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Chef specializing in Jamaican cuisine. Strong expertise in preparing authentic Jamaican dishes and traditional cooking methods. Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and inventory management. Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards. Ability to supervise kitchen staff and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to consistently maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Professional, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
