Marcia Dixon T/A In and Out Construction is seeking an experienced dependable Mason Worker to perform skilled masonry tasks, including laying brick, block, concrete, and stone. The Mason Worker will construct, repair, and finish structures such as walls, foundations, floors, walkways, and decorative stonework. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and strong knowledge of masonry tools and techniques. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in masonry construction, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities Masonry Construction & Installation Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other building materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, floors, and structures. Mix mortar, grout, and concrete to required consistency. Build and align structures using levels, plumb lines, and measuring tools. Shape and cut materials to fit project specifications and designs. Surface Preparation & Finishing Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and setting foundation forms. Apply finishing techniques such as pointing, caulking, and sealing masonry joints. Install reinforcing materials such as wire mesh or rebar when needed. Blueprint & Specification Interpretation Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and job instructions. Understand material requirements, layout dimensions, and building codes. Ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications. Maintenance & Repair Repair cracked or damaged masonry structures and replace broken materials. Restore aging stone or brickwork in remodeling or restoration projects. Patch mortar joints and refill grout lines as needed. Tool & Equipment Operation Operate masonry tools including trowels, levels, chisels, hammers, power saws, and grinders. Maintain tools, cleaning and storing them properly after use. Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA guidelines, safety regulations, and company safety procedures. Use appropriate PPE such as gloves, hard hats, goggles, and steel-toe boots. Maintain a clean and organized work area to reduce hazards. Team Collaboration Work alongside laborers, masons, carpenters, and site supervisors. Communicate material needs, project concerns, or safety issues promptly. Support team efforts to meet deadlines and maintain productivity. Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a mason, bricklayer, block layer, or stone mason. Strong knowledge of masonry materials, tools, and construction techniques. Ability to read blueprints, layouts, and technical drawings. Physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs., stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks. Excellent attention to detail, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a crew. Education & Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in masonry is a plus. 5-10 years of masonry experience preferred.
