The Kitchen Steward will be helping in the successful operation of the culinary department by ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved; keeping the back of the house clean and organized.
Ensure cleaning schedule is adhered to the required standard Sweep, mop and polish the kitchen and back of house Wash, clean and polish equipment Maintain purchases, receiving and food storage standards Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products Operate and maintain all department equipment and reports malfunctions Assist in all related duties as delegated by the Head Chef or Supervisor
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a high-volume hotel and restaurant environment as a Kitchen Steward or a similar role Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in environment with time constraints Ability to troubleshoot effectively Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently Demonstrated good communication skills Must maintain a professional image Ability to lift 50lbs; sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time Must be able to work a flexible schedule including outside of normal business hours (i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays, as needed)
