Appleby (Cayman) Ltd. are seeking to hire a Senior Paralegal to join their Dispute Resolution Practice Group, to support a team of leading litigators working on its high-profile portfolio of complex commercial, financial services and insolvency litigation. The successful candidate will assist with the management and coordination of case files for commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters, while assisting with the drafting of pleadings, affidavits, and legal correspondence. The successful candidate is expected to compile court bundles, including case retrieval, organisation, and indexing. The role also involves direct communication with clients to obtain instructions, documents, and relevant information, as well as drafting and responding to routine correspondence on behalf of the fee earners. In addition, the post-holder will support the timely distribution and filing of Grand Court and Summary Court cause lists, liaise with the Courts Office regarding listing dates and other judicial matters, and prepare associated forms to accompany filings when required. The role also involves conducting legal research on Cayman Islands law and relevant international authorities, as well as liaising with counsel, experts, and Court officials as required. You will assist with trial preparation, may be expected to attend Court hearings, and will be expected to mentor junior paralegals. Ensuring compliance with court rules, procedures, and internal protocols will also form a core part of the role. Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience as a paralegal within the litigation arena. A recognized legal or paralegal qualification is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent drafting, organisational, and research skills, along with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is proficiency in legal technology and document management systems (i.e. iManage).
