Job Posting: Carpenter / Mason Company Name: Top Performance Construction Job Title: Carpenter / Mason Location: Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands Job Type: Full-Time (40–45 hours per week) Pay Rate: CI$12.00 per hour Benefits: Statutory Health Insurance and Pension in accordance with the Cayman Islands Labour Act Job Summary Top Performance Construction is seeking a skilled, hardworking, and versatile Carpenter / Mason with at least 8 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of structural and finishing tasks across both carpentry and masonry trades on residential and commercial building sites. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Build, assemble, erect, and strip wooden formwork and shuttering for concrete footings, slabs, columns, and beams. Construct and install structural framing, wall partitions, floor joists, and roof trusses. Fit and install doors, windows, drywall, moldings, trim, and exterior/interior finishes. Accurately measure, cut, shape, and join wood, plywood, composite, and drywall materials.
Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stone with proper alignment, plumb, and level. Mix, pour, spread, screed, float, and finish concrete for foundations, slabs, steps, and sidewalks. Apply, patch, and smooth plaster, stucco, and render on interior and exterior walls. Mix and apply mortar and grout; fill bond beams and structural columns.
Read and work from blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and building plans. Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools (saws, drills, mixers, grinders, levels, nail guns). Adhere strictly to job-site safety standards, wear required PPE, and maintain an orderly, clean work area. Required Qualifications & Experience Experience: Minimum of 8 years of verifiable, hands-on experience in both carpentry and masonry construction. Trade Skills: Deep technical proficiency in formwork carpentry, structural framing, block laying, plastering, and concrete finishing. Physical Demands: Must be physically fit, capable of continuous heavy lifting (50+ lbs), comfortable working at heights on scaffolding and ladders, and able to work outdoors in hot tropical weather. Work Ethic: Highly reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Clean Police Clearance Certificate. Verifiable employment references from previous employers. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required by project deadlines.
