Site Superintendent

The Site Superintendent’s responsibilities include monitoring performance of employees on site and making recommendations for improvement as well as educating employees on site safety. They should ensure that all required equipment and materials are available. The post holder must be skilled at multitasking, have good teamwork skills and can work well under timelines to ensure client satisfaction. Responsibilities:• Creating work schedule for install team• Ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.• Monitoring construction processes, and providing training as required.• Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.• Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.• Scheduling regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff.• Writing up reports, project plans, and presenting them to relevant stakeholders.• Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.• Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff.• Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required.• Collecting deliveries from customs and ensuring all required paperwork is completed.• Ensuring that warehouse and stock is kept organised and place orders for materials under the direction of the Project Coordinator or Managing Director as required• Track and coordinate the delivery of equipment and materials to site• Log and schedule service calls• Be a point of contact for clients during project implementation• Other tasks assigned by Management Travel:The position may require travel to the Sister Islands, although minimal. Additional Skills and Abilities:1. Strong communication skills, and client negotiation skills2. Proven ability to manage a variety of contract methods3. Proven ability to schedule and coordinate multiple work crews and performance of contractors, where necessary4. Coordinate resource and material scheduling and upkeep of MS Project5. Good time management, multitasking and stress management skills to ensure that tasks get completed on time. 6. Excellent teamwork skills to motivate various groups of people to fulfill their tasks within a given time frame7. Clean, tidy and neat appearance and present Apex’s professional image of to current and potential customers8. Professional, pleasant and courteous, as well as self-disciplined and mature.9. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.10. Valid and current clean driver’s license. Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:1. Employee is required to work on ladders and where required, scaffolding2. Some lifting of objects is required.3. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.5. Work is performed inside and outside and is subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations
