About the Role As a Mason/ Steel Fixer with Let's Go Building & Maintenance, you will play a critical role in our ongoing commercial and residential building projects. You will be responsible for bringing architectural plans to life, ensuring structural integrity, and delivering high-quality finishing work. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of proven professional experience in masonry, block laying, concrete finishing and steel fixing. Technical Literacy: Ability to read, interpret, and execute blueprints, architectural drawings, and structural specifications. Tool Proficiency: Expert handling of standard masonry tools, power equipment, and materials. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding work in a tropical outdoor climate, including lifting heavy materials and prolonged standing or bending. Detail-Oriented: Exceptional precision in measurements, alignment, and aesthetic finishing. Safety First: Deep understanding of construction site safety protocols and best practices. (Knowledge of Cayman Islands building codes is a strong asset). Key Job Duties Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stone according to specified plans and structural guidelines. Mix mortar, cement, and concrete to proper consistencies for various applications. Construct, repair, and reinforce foundations, walls, columns, and other structural frameworks. Apply plaster, stucco, or render to interior and exterior walls and ceilings to achieve a smooth and durable finish. Ensure structural alignment and level surfaces using plumb bobs, levels, and lasers. Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, carpenters, and other tradespeople to ensure projects stay on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to occupational safety standards. Compensation, Benefits, and Hours This position strictly adheres to all regulations set forth by the Cayman Islands Labour Act (2021 Revision) and subsequent amendments. Standard Working Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: CI$12.00 per hour (minimum) Pension, Health Insurance and Vacation.
