Job Description

The Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and overall operational reliability of medical devices used by healthcare partners across the island. This role ensures that all equipment operates safely and efficiently through routine and preventive maintenance, timely troubleshooting, and strict adherence to manufacturer guidelines and applicable regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, setup, and configuration of medical equipment at client sites.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Support diagnostic evaluations and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as needed.
  • Accurately complete all service reports, maintenance logs, and technical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Manage, maintain, and track spare parts, tools, and service materials.
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager, clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Participate in training sessions, technical certifications, and ongoing skills development programmes.
  • Safeguard and properly maintain all issued tools, equipment, and company assets.
  • Provide support for additional service and operational activities as required.

Requirements

  • A diploma or certification in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in medical equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand electronic and mechanical systems, interpret technical manuals, diagnose equipment issues, and complete maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, customer service, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle medical equipment.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance procedures.
