Sales Clerk/Assisstant Technician

About the Company Economy Electronics is a local operated electronics and technology retailer providing sales, installation, maintenance, and technical support services for computers, networking equipment, CCTV systems, consumer electronics, and related products. We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Clerk/Assistant Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide retail sales assistance, customer support, and technical services both in-store and at customer locations. The position combines customer service responsibilities with hands-on electronic support.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist customer with the selection and purchase of electronics, computer equipment, smartphones, networking products, CCTV Systems and accessories
• Provide product information, recommendations, and basic technical guidance
• Process sales transaction, return, and exchange accurately using the point-of-sale system (POS)
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally
• Maintain clean, organized and attractive displays
• Assist with receiving, pricing, stocking and inventory control
• Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliation activities
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic devices including computers, printers, peripheral devices, and small appliances
• Install & configure electronic software applications, drivers & updates
• Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CCTV Systems
• Support customer training on operation and use of CCTV equipment
• On-site technical support visit for installation, maintenance, repairs, and technical support
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation of work performed
• Ensure all installations and service activities meet company standards and safety requirements

Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of consumer electronics, computers, smartphones, and networking equipment
• Working knowledge of Android and Apple IOS operating systems
• Familiarity with CCTV systems, IP cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and remote monitoring applications.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts including routers, switches, WI-FI, and internet connectivity
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to explain technical information in a clear and understandable manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organizational and time management and management skills
• Attention to detail
• Highly self-motivated with strong discipline and initiative

Qualifications

• Clean Police Clearance Certificate (Mandatory)
• Minimum High school diploma with Technical Certification in Vocational Studies specializing in Electronics Repair and Maintenance
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in retail electronics, IT support, smartphone technology, computer repair, CCTV installation & Point of Sale (POS)
• Must be excellent in reading, writing and comprehension skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs
• Ability to travel to customer locations and perform installations when required
• Ability to work on ladders and various indoor and outdoor environment
• Ability to stand for extended period in a retail environment
