We are a building materials supplier looking for a dependable and detail-focused Inventory & Delivery Checker. You will be a critical accuracy checkpoint across our outgoing deliveries and customer pickups — making sure the right product, in the right quantity, leaves our yard every time. Some familiarity with building materials products will help you hit the ground running with our SKU system, and prior warehouse or inventory experience means you'll be comfortable in a fast-paced, physical environment from day one. Core responsibilities Check outgoing deliveries against pick tickets and purchase orders before dispatch Verify customer pickup orders at point of collection — product, quantity, and SKU accuracy Learn and apply our internal SKU system to cross-reference products confidently Conduct scheduled and spot inventory counts across warehouse and yard locations Identify, document, and escalate discrepancies — wrong items, damaged stock, quantity shortfalls Maintain accurate check-off records (paper and/or digital) throughout the shift Support broader warehouse and logistics tasks as required by the team What we need from you Some prior experience in a warehouse, inventory, receiving, or dispatch role Familiarity with building materials — enough to recognise common products and read basic specs Exceptional attention to detail; you don't sign off until everything checks out Comfortable with numbers — counts, unit conversions, and basic calculations Able to sustain accuracy during high-volume dispatch periods Basic computer literacy; WMS or inventory software experience is an advantage Physically fit and comfortable working on-site in a yard/warehouse environment Clear communicator — you escalate issues early and document them properly Desirable (not essential) Experience in a building materials, timber, hardware, or trade supply environment Familiarity with barcoding or scanning systems Shortlisted candidates will complete a short skills assessment at interview to assess accuracy and process thinking. No study required — it reflects the day-to-day work.
