Job Description

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Coordinator performs, plans, directs, coordinates and controls all facility maintenance to ensure proper safety, sanitation and mechanical functions for the facility including; grounds and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to

  • Coordinate all maintenance work to properly maintain MPCL facilities and grounds.
  • Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities and process work assignments.
  • Establishes and maintains a reliable network of outside vendors and suppliers to ensure cost effective and timely support of the maintenance function.
  • Ensures all Vehicle licenses are maintained.
  • Performs routine inspections of all systems and equipment. Perform routine repair work and other work of a general maintenance nature.
  • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Ensures that all MPCL policies and procedures are followed related to the performance of the maintenance function.
  • Establishes and communicates the level of quality and safety expected in the performance of maintenance tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Associates degree in construction, electrical or mechanical engineering or business preferred.
  • Five (5) years of facilities maintenance experience.
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good grammar and diction. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percent and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
