Finance Transformation Manager | Knighthead Annuity & Life Assurance Company Knighthead Annuity and Life Assurance Company (“the Company”) is seeking a highly motivated Finance Transformation Manager to join our growing team. This position will support the Company’s internal financial reporting team through automation of manual processes and procedures, researching and providing solutions to enhance efficiency in the financial close and reporting processes including automating financial controls. You will also be responsible for optimizing the Company’s liquidity, cash flow, and financial risk management. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between the finance department and IT, bridging the gap to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive efficiencies within our financial operations. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work within a highly motivated team of accounting, finance, investment and actuarial professionals responsible for preparing and maintaining the Company’s financial statements, projections, management reporting and financial controls.
The primary duties and responsibilities for the role include
Drive the evolution of the finance function by transitioning manual workflows into AI-augmented processes.
Deliver improvements in accounting systems including implementation and enhancement initiatives.
Focus on initiatives that will enable reporting that includes management dashboards, metrics process improvements and enables complex problem solving.
Systems & data (ERP, reporting stack, integrations, data quality)
Manage ongoing system maintenance and reporting developments.
Develop and implement best practices for system usage, data integrity, and compliance with accounting standards, regulatory and internal audit requirements.
Support financial decision making through enhanced data extraction and analysis.
Collaborate closely with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into system enhancements and process improvements.
Act as the primary point of contact between finance and IT teams, fostering effective communication and alignment on system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting efforts.
Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in accounting systems and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Deliver ongoing communication around system implementations, upgrades and business transformation projects
Design and provide training to finance users on system functionalities, new features, and enhancements. Lead internal finance 'AI literacy' initiatives, coaching the finance team on new tools to enhance individual productivity.
Identify and implement opportunities for automation, risk reduction, and process optimization within treasury operations.
Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to streamline payment processes.
Automate reporting of daily cash positions and short-term liquidity forecasting to ensure optimal liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.
Financial reporting support (quarterly/annual, US GAAP)
Support preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP for multiple entities within the Group.
Support internal finance team with regular close activities with a focus on automating journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance when required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field. CPA or an equivalent qualification is required.
Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, financial reporting tools, and advanced Excel skills. Prior experience with Oracle NetSuite and/or OneStream a plus.
Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and automation tools.
Strong understanding of financial processes and controls, with the ability to translate business needs into system requirements.
Experience in project management, including system implementations and upgrades.
Prior experience with developing solutions using tools such as Power BI and Power Query preferred.
Experience building and implementing new workflows and integrating prior systems, including control monitoring.
Experience with using computer programming and software development in a financial setting to automate processes e.g. Python, JavaScript, SQL.
Proficiency with using AI tools e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude
5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Insurance and/or financial services experience preferred.
Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; familiarity with insurance accounting/reporting requirements is a plus.
Strong attention to detail; highly organized and process-driven.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across departments and at all levels of the organization.
Work location: In-office during standard business hours. 40-hour work week. This position will require the availability and dedication to meet time sensitive deadlines which includes working overtime, including weekends, as needed. Salary will be in the range of US$120,000–$175,000 plus benefits, including bonus, pension, health insurance, and vacation. Open to Caymanians, Permanent Residents, and RERC holders.
