Position Summary The Gardener is responsible for maintaining and beautifying outdoor landscapes at residential, commercial, and institutional properties managed by AAA Group of Companies – Countryside Gardeners. This role ensures that gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces are kept in pristine condition, promoting a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment. The Gardener performs a variety of skilled horticultural, maintenance, and groundskeeping duties while adhering to safety and environmental standards Key Responsibilities

• Grounds Maintenance
• Mow, edge, trim, and water lawns and green areas.
• Prune, plant, and fertilise flowers, shrubs, and trees according to seasonal requirements.
• Weed and mulch flowerbeds and landscaped areas.
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery (lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
• Apply pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Landscape Care & Enhancement
• Assist in landscape design and installation projects as directed.
• Identify and report signs of plant disease, pest infestation, or soil problems.
• Suggest improvements for layout, irrigation, or planting to enhance property appearance.
• Replace damaged or dead plants to maintain a vibrant garden presentation.
• Equipment & Safety
• Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in good working order; report malfunctions immediately.
• Observe all company health and safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Store chemicals and fuel safely, in accordance with manufacturer instructions and environmental legislation.
• Maintain awareness of weather conditions and adjust work tasks to prevent hazards (e.g., heat, rain, or storms).
• General Duties
• Collect and dispose of rubbish, green waste, and debris from assigned areas.
• Ensure all work areas are left clean and tidy after completion of tasks.
• Assist other departments with light maintenance or property preparation as required.
• Provide courteous service to clients and the public, representing the AAA Group’s professionalism and care values

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in groundskeeping, horticulture, or landscape maintenance.
• Working knowledge of tropical plants, soil conditions, and garden care appropriate to the Cayman Islands.
• Ability to operate standard gardening machinery safely.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of work.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable

• Formal training or certification in horticulture, landscaping, or environmental management.
• Experience with irrigation systems and sustainable gardening practices.
• Valid Cayman Islands driver’s licence (Group 2 or above).

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work environment with exposure to sun, rain, insects, and varying weather conditions.
• Physical duties may include lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Standard workweek: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility for special projects or emergencies.
