Mason / Carpenter

Position Overview The Mason / Carpenter operates as a dual-skilled tradesperson responsible for executing both masonry and carpentry scopes within construction projects. This role is positioned to optimize labor efficiency, reduce trade fragmentation, and accelerate project timelines by integrating structural masonry work with framing and general carpentry execution. The individual is accountable for delivering durable, code-compliant structures while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship across multiple disciplines. Key Responsibilities Masonry Work Execution

• Lay concrete blocks in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Mix and apply mortar, grout, and other bonding agents to ensure structural integrity.
• Construct and repair walls, partitions, foundations, columns, and other masonry elements.
• Install and finish concrete surfaces, including slabs, footings, and small structural components.
• Ensure proper alignment, level, and plumb of all masonry installations.

Carpentry & Framing

• Measure, cut, and assemble wood for framing, formwork, and general construction.
• Build and dismantle concrete formwork for slabs, columns, beams, and foundations.
• Install doors, frames, blocking, and supports as required.
• Perform rough carpentry tasks to support masonry and structural works.
• Assist with installation of temporary structures such as scaffolding supports and bracing.

Formwork & Concrete Support

• Construct and align formwork systems for concrete pours.
• Place and secure reinforcement materials (rebar, mesh) where required.
• Assist with pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces.
• Strip and clean formwork for reuse, ensuring efficiency and minimal material waste.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow workplace safety practices, including the use of PPE.
• Safely handle and dispose of finishing materials, adhesives, solvents, and chemicals.
• Adhere to local regulations and site safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in both masonry and carpentry within a construction environment.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts.
• Skilled in formwork construction and concrete support activities.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and structural alignment.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in demanding conditions.
