Location: Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands Position: Experienced Gardener Employment Type: Full-Time JT Whitehouse Property Management is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and experienced Gardener to join our landscaping and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of various residential and commercial outdoor spaces across the island.
Perform routine landscape maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, and mulching. Plant, cultivate, prune, and maintain a variety of tropical trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns. Operate and maintain landscaping machinery and equipment safely (e.g., riding mowers, weed whackers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers).Monitor, adjust, and perform basic repairs on irrigation systems to ensure proper water coverage. Identify common plant diseases and pests, and safely apply appropriate fertilizers or treatments as needed. Clear grounds of debris, leaves, and refuse to ensure properties are clean, safe, and presentable. Assist with heavy lifting and other general labor tasks related to groundskeeping.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional gardening or landscaping experience. Strong knowledge of tropical plant species, seasonal care, and local climate conditions. Ability to safely operate and maintain motorized landscaping equipment. Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in hot, humid conditions for extended periods. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A valid Cayman Islands driver’s license (Group 2 or higher) is preferred. Must possess a clean police record and be fluent in English.
