is seeking a responsible, hardworking, and safety-conscious Deckhand to join our marine operations team. The ideal candidate will assist with vessel operations, passenger safety, and general maintenance duties while ensuring excellent customer service on the water. The Deckhand will support the captain and crew in the safe operation of boats and water-based activities. This role requires strong teamwork, physical fitness, and a commitment to safety standards and customer care in a marine environment.
Stand watches are underway and in port. Operate and maintain equipment and machinery, including greasing and cleaning. Maintain the vessel’s deck surfaces and interior spaces. Assist in operations like docking and undocking. Secure cargo and rig towing gear. Assist Deck Officers. Help ensure the safety of passengers and other crew members. Moving heavy objects around. Using various ropes, knots, and radio and navigational equipment. Assisting during emergencies and effectively using safety equipment. Performing general maintenance duties like painting, sweeping, and mopping. Preparing cabins for crew or passengers. Cleaning of deck lockers and bilges Assisting guests as required during water sports.
With at least 5 years of experience in this role. Knowledge of maritime safety. Excellent hand-eye coordination. Willingness to work in harsh climates. Certification may be required, but generally, on-the-job training is the primary method of instruction. Fitness level sufficient to remain standing for most of your shift. Existing knowledge of the maritime industry. Ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. Able to work on weekends and holidays. With a Clean Police record.
