Job Description

Rawlinson & Hunter Cayman Islands (R&H Cayman) is an independently owned, partner-led professional services firm with over 90 employees in the Cayman Islands. The Firm has been providing a fully integrated range of financial services to both local and international clients for over 50 years. Ltd. a duly licensed Cayman Islands trust company which provides a full range of trust and corporate services including the provision of corporate trustees, directors, enforcers and protectors, and also a full range of services to private trust companies. At this time, we are inviting applications for the following full-time position.

DIRECTOR, TRUST SERVICES

This is a senior position within the firm’s trust & corporate department. The successful candidate will have a leadership role in the overall management of that business including primary responsibility for a number of the largest client relationships. In addition to the direct management of staff and client portfolios, the successful candidate will also be required to participate fully in the development of new business, marketing training, recruitment, preparation of budgets and financial analysis for the department and reporting to the Board. We are looking for an individual who has the demonstrated senior leadership ability and extensive relevant experience to manage, build and grow an existing portfolio of high net worth clients within a busy environment. The individual must also demonstrate an ability identify and manage risk at both a clients and service line level. The successful applicant will be responsible for:-

  • Liaising with clients and their advisers and family offices where relevant, in the establishment and continuation of private client and corporate vehicles;
  • Establishing new client relationships through the firms’ existing network of contacts and through the establishment of new contacts;
  • The ongoing management of an extensive and varied portfolio of trust and corporate clients, including complex private client structures, private trust companies and special purpose vehicles. This involves the oversight of assigned staff, the secondary review of relevant documentation, the management of the client relationships including meetings with advisers and family members and the monitoring of the overall client relationships;
  • Reporting of routine and key matters to the Board.

Other specific duties include:-

  • Promotion of the firm and business development, including oversight and management of client proposals and responsibility for those relationships thereafter;
  • Review and assessment of new business, including detailed review of structures, documents and service providers;
  • Continual review and assessment of existing relationships;
  • The provision of certain signatory rights;
  • Training and mentoring of staff members including the provision of technical assistance.

This is a senior position and the successful applicant will be fully conversant in trust and corporate structures and be able to discuss the practicalities of both establishing and providing for the ongoing administration of such structures. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to meet frequent tight deadlines. The candidate must be highly motivated and organized, be willing to work overtime when required and must also be willing to travel as necessary to attend client meetings and to represent the firm at various industry events. They may be asked to act as director of client companies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must possess a university degree and an internationally recognized professional accountancy or TEP qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, STEP).
  • At least 10 years or greater of trust industry experience with relevant senior management experience.

Benefits

  • US$175,000 to US$265,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. A full package of benefits including annual performance based bonus, pension, health and life insurance is offered.
