Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the properties and support repair and renovation projects
  • Accomplish the preventative maintenance program as directed and perform routine operating equipment checks and repairs
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Palm Heights safety systems and take corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the properties
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely manner
  • Install, maintain and repair commercial laundry and kitchen equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Perform planned, preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend service life.
  • Ensure projects and maintenance tasks are completed on time and in accordance with established service schedules.
  • Utilize and store all equipment properly.
  • Comply with all company regulations, policies, work procedures, safety standards, security protocols, and operating instructions to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and management directives, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance issues and high standards of customer service.
  • Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team to complete repairs, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Undertake effective planning and prioritization of workload within required timelines.
  • Perform general maintenance to guest rooms and public areas.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and present a courteous, guest-focused attitude at all times while on duty.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position within a hotel, or resort environment.
  • Technical or vocational certification in a related field, preferred.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance record keeping.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Efficient with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and the internet.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
