Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the materials required and dimensions for structures.
Formwork & Shuttering: Constructing, erecting, and dismantling wooden and metal formwork for pouring concrete.
Steel Fixing (Rebar): Cutting, bending, and tying steel bars (rebar) and mesh for reinforced concrete structures such as columns, beams, and foundations.
Structural Assembly: Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials; assembling and installing building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
Site preparation: Layout and preparation of the work site, ensuring all measurements are accurate and comply with safety standards
Maintenance & Repair: Inspecting and replacing damaged framework or other structures and fixtures as required.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is performed in strict accordance with site safety protocols and the Cayman Islands building codes.
The position requires
Over 5 years of experience as a Carpenter/Steel Fixer.
Any equivalent combination of experience and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
