Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing, charging, and system start-up.
Conduct equipment commissioning and operational testing.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system faults.
Troubleshoot thermostats, zoning systems, sensors, control boards, and HVAC control devices.
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service activities.
Carry out air balancing adjustments and airflow verification.
Prepare service reports, commissioning reports, and project documentation.
Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, engineers, contractors, and clients.
Assist in planning project installations and determining material requirements.
Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.
Train, supervise, and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.
Respond to emergency service calls and after-hours work when required.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 5 years of HVAC industry experience is mandatory.
Project installation experience is mandatory.
Must be capable of independently completing HVAC installations, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance, and repair works with minimal supervision.
Strong experience with commercial and residential HVAC systems.
Experience installing and servicing split systems, package units, VRF/VRV systems, geothermal systems, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC controls, electrical systems, and ventilation principles.
Experience with commissioning and start-up of HVAC systems.
Skilled in brazing, soldering, pipe fitting, refrigerant handling, and system diagnostics.
Ability to identify and resolve complex HVAC issues efficiently.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to supervise and coordinate with other technicians on project sites.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling HVAC equipment and materials.
Valid driver’s license required.
HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Trade Certification, or equivalent qualification preferred.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LG, Carrier, Trane, Rheem, Mitsubishi, Daikin, Enertech, and similar HVAC equipment.
Experience in commercial construction projects, government projects, hotels, restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, and large-scale developments.
Experience with VRF commissioning, geothermal systems, air balancing, and ventilation projects.
Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), controls, and zoning systems is an asset.
EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification or equivalent is an asset.
