Job Description- Pension Accounting Coordinator Department: Accounts Reports To: Accountant / Operations Manager Salary Range: USD $65,000 – $80,000 Position Summary The Pension Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the accurate processing, reconciliation, and monitoring of pension contribution payments. This role ensures all contributions are properly recorded, reconciled against supporting schedules, and resolved promptly where discrepancies or missing information exist. The successful candidate will work closely with employers, members, and internal teams to maintain accurate financial records, support operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with the Cayman Islands National Pensions Act, pension plan policies, and internal financial controls. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of accounting and reconciliation processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile pension contribution payments against contribution schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Investigate, identify, and resolve discrepancies related to contribution payments and records.
  • Calculate pension contribution arrears, including applicable interest and penalties in accordance with the Cayman Islands National Pensions Act and related regulations.
  • Maintain records of delinquent accounts and escalate outstanding compliance matters where necessary.
  • Monitor and track outstanding contribution items to ensure timely resolution.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and within established service standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, reconciliations, and audit trails for all contribution activities.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations, reporting, and related accounting processes.
  • Support the accounting team with data validation, reporting, and financial administration tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with pension plan policies, internal controls, anti-money laundering procedures.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing reconciliations, documentation, and supporting schedules as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Progress toward an accounting designation (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CGA) is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting, finance, or reconciliation-focused role.
  • Experience within pension administration, payroll processing, or financial services is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data management.
