Tour Bus Driver/Mechanic

Anchor Tours is seeking a responsible, skilled, and customer-focused Tour Bus Driver/Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will operate and maintain our fleet of King Long diesel tour buses, ensuring safe, reliable, and enjoyable transportation for our guests. This dual-role position combines professional driving duties with mechanical maintenance responsibilities to minimize downtime and ensure our fleet operates at peak performance. The ideal candidate will have strong driving experience, a sound mechanical background, and a passion for providing excellent customer service to visitors from around the world. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Driving Duties

• Safely operate King Long diesel tour buses on scheduled routes and charter services.
• Provide informative and engaging commentary on local attractions, history, and culture.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers at all times.
• Adhere strictly to all road traffic laws, company policies, and transport regulations.
• Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and luggage handling.
• Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the bus.
• Manage time effectively to maintain punctuality on all tours.
• Keep accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and passenger counts.
• Represent the company professionally as the primary point of contact for guests.

Mechanical Duties

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance, basic mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Identify and report mechanical issues promptly to management.
• Coordinate with external service providers for major repairs when required.
• Maintain maintenance logs and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant.
• Ensure minimal downtime across the fleet through proactive maintenance practices.

• Valid Group 3 or 4 Commercial Driver’s License.
• Must be able to obtain Public Transport Permit.
• Clean driving record and verifiable professional driving experience.
• Prior experience as a Bus Driver, Tour Driver, or Heavy Vehicle Operator.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, particularly King Long or similar commercial vehicles.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance.
• Excellent knowledge of local roads, landmarks, and attractions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Commitment to safety, punctuality, and superior customer service.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations effectively.
• Physical ability to assist passengers and handle luggage when required.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification in mechanics is an asset.
• Fluency in multiple languages is an advantage.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
