Location: George Town Position: Fence Labourer / Handyman Salary: CI$10.00 per hour Benefits: All statutory benefits in accordance with Cayman Islands Labour Law Hours of Work: 45 hours per week Job Description Install and erect various types of fences including wooden, chain-link, metal, and vinyl fencing in accordance with project specifications. Dig post holes, set fence posts, assemble fence panels, and install wiring and related materials. Prepare work sites by clearing obstructions, measuring designated areas, and marking boundaries for accurate fence placement. Ensure ground surfaces are level and suitable for fence installation. Inspect existing fences for damages, defects, or wear and carry out necessary repairs or replacements. Perform routine maintenance such as repainting, staining, or treating fences to prevent rust, corrosion, or rot. Load, unload, and transport fencing materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas. Assist with general handyman duties and construction-related tasks as assigned. Collaborate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and clients to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Report work progress, safety concerns, and any issues encountered during installation or repair activities. Follow all workplace safety regulations and ensure proper use of tools and equipment. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in fencing installation, handyman work, or general construction. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of fence installation techniques, measurements, and construction safety procedures. Physically fit and capable of performing strenuous manual labor. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and under direct sunlight in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Good teamwork and communication skills. Ability to complete tasks within deadlines and work with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license would be an asset.
