Funds Associate

This role represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced funds lawyer or corporate lawyer with international deal experience to join our market-leading investment funds team in the Cayman Islands. The team is highly collaborative and the successful candidate will enjoy a supportive team environment and unrivalled exposure to quality transactions. The team represents and advises sponsors on a range of fund related matters, including but not limited to fund formation, establishment of governance and carry vehicles, operational and compliance matters during a fund's lifecycle, portfolio holding and acquisition structures, restructurings and fund end of life and liquidity solutions. Given the global reach of our clients there is plenty of opportunity to collaborate with the other offices and business units within the Maples Group.

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, a strong work ethic and a commitment to building a legal career in funds. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well within a team environment. The candidate's qualifications and experience will also include:

• 7 - 8 years' post qualification experience
• Highly relevant funds and/or corporate experience gained within a recognised leading law firm in a major onshore or offshore jurisdiction
• A strong academic background, with excellent written communication and drafting skills
• Practice management and business development skills or experience
• Excellent technical knowledge and a strong commercial awareness
