Program Director

The Program Director will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering individualized fitness, recreation and community-support programs for neurodiverse individuals and persons with developmental disabilities. The role includes assessing clients’ needs, creating appropriate activity plans, providing direct one-to-one support, maintaining client safety, monitoring progress and coordinating with families, caregivers and community organizations. The Program Director will also oversee the day-to-day delivery and continued development of Caring Companions Ltd.’s programs and services. The position requires a flexible schedule and will include regular evening, weekend and public-holiday work based on clients’ needs and scheduled programs.

Required experience and qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.
• Three years' experience supporting individuals with Level 3 autism spectrum disorder and complex support needs.
• Five years' experience in community-based or nonprofit youth and recreation programs.
• Minimum three years coaching experience.
• Recognized coaching and/or fitness certification.
• Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Darkness to Light or equivalent child-protection training.
• Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
