Consultant- Emergency Medicine

Job Purpose To provide timely, high-quality emergency medical care by rapidly assessing, stabilizing, and treating patients with acute and life-threatening conditions, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and ensuring appropriate disposition, documentation, and continuity of care in accordance with clinical standards and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Emergency physicians provide medical treatment to patients requiring acute and life-saving care.
• To take detailed history and conduct physical examination of the patient
• Emergency physicians must evaluate a wide variety of ailments, sometimes with little to no information.
• Their primary job functions are to resuscitate and stabilize patients and transition care to an appropriate endpoint whether that be the ICU, general inpatient bed, another provider, another hospital, or home.
• They must be able to think and act quickly to make a tentative diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
• Request the appropriate medical tests and based on them, follow a treatment plan.
• For this reason, emergency physicians often work as part of a team, with physicians of other specialties and other members of the emergency department staff.
• Performs triage on incoming patients.
• Assess patients that enter the emergency room immediately and Oversees patient care, treatment, and recovery.
• Maintains clinical records in line with regulations and standards.
• Develop effective patient care plans. Refer patients to the appropriate specialists.
• Conducts follow-up to monitor patient’s condition.
• Ensure that patients are stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.
• Clears patients for discharge or further procedures with specialists.

QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL, SKILLS

o MBBS, MD/Medicine Doctor, Post Graduate Diploma, DNB, DM/Doctorate of Medicine o Valid Registration, Eligible to Register in Cayman Medical Dental Council. Location: East End and George Town
