Job Description

Overview

General crew to work in the front and back of the house (kitchen). This person must not only take orders and collect payment, but also inform the customer of new products or promotions (in person, via phone or electronically). To ensure KFC standards and procedures are used in all work, including food preparation; cleanliness; hospitality; accuracy; maintenance; product and speed of service. Person may take customer orders from time to time, deliver inventory between stores occasionally and help unload containers once or twice a month (approximately). Must follow food & safety program; be able to lift up to 45 lbs; clean assigned area and carry out any other related duties.

General responsibilities

  • The role requires flexibility and working across different stations, including front of the house or kitchen, depending on the restaurant’s needs at the time
  • Ability to work in hot or cold environments
  • Greet customers, take orders and give menu item recommendations in a friendly manner
  • Handle POS transactions and customer requests or issues
  • Assemble and package orders for dine-in, take-out, and delivery customers, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met
  • Preparing menu items per KFC standards and ops guides, including all chicken and sides. Assembling orders and ensuring food safety and quality protocols are followed
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Clean, marinate, bread and prepare chicken using food preparation equipment including ovens, fryers, grills and various kitchen equipment
  • Monitoring all service equipment
  • Stock and rotate food supplies, ensuring fresh ingredients are available and waste is minimized
  • Prepare ingredients for use in cooking, including washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring
  • Maintaining a clean work environment by completing general cleaning tasks inside or outside the restaurant
  • Cleaning the kitchen and workstations or equipment, washing dishes, cleaning dining areas and restrooms, as well as sweeping and mopping floors
  • Unloading, stocking and maintaining required inventory level
  • Work closely with the whole team to ensure efficient and smooth restaurant operations
  • Supporting other team members during busy periods
  • Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
  • Other duties from time to time, as directed by Manager or Supervisory staff on duty

Requirements

  • Prior F&B or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) experience an asset
  • Minimum High School graduation certificate
  • Must have a clean police clearance certificate with no criminal charges
  • English proficiency
  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Hospitality to interact & work well with a multi-cultural team and customer base
  • Written, numeracy & computer skills
  • Meet tight food prep & production timelines
  • Ability to work split shifts, weekends & holidays between all KFC locations as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A valid food handler’s certificate needed, or the willingness to acquire once hired
  • Must pass KFC corporate training certification tests at the required levels
  • Valid Cayman Islands drivers license is an asset
