Job Description

Job Purpose

The Site Superintendent will ensure projects are delivered successfully and work closely with the Project Manager. They will assist with managing the project team in the field, working closely with subcontractors, inspecting work in progress, and ensuring workmanship conforms to specifications and construction schedules. This should be a professional individual that supervises all site activities to ensure each aspect of the product meets the design. They should have strong supervisory skills and an ability to understand the project as a whole.

Main duties and responsibilities of this position include the following

  • Direct construction personnel in the execution of construction procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating the build phase of the project.
  • Maintain direct contact with sub-contractors / trades.
  • Ensure appropriate resources are available to ensure continuous workflow.
  • Supervise the daily site works ensuring the quality of work as well as the observance of the original designs.
  • Understand the project scope fully.
  • Expedite project work via negotiated Subcontractors and Purchase Orders.
  • Address all relevant issues with the appropriate correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Ensure the project is executed in a safe manner following the company safety policy.
  • Ensure the project is adequately resourced for proper control.

Assess the project to monitor compliance with building and safety codes.

  • Plan and conduct inspections with the local authorities.
  • Recognize and retain productive manpower.
  • Understand job costing and produce tracking reports such as daily logs.

Requirements, Qualifications, Abilities & Experience include the following

  • Minimum 5 years in Project Management and Site Supervision.
  • Strong managerial, leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage in-house crews and subcontractors.
  • Ability to resource and organize material scheduling.
  • Demonstrate competent computer skills, experience using MS Project is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of submittals, RFI’s, drawings, change orders, punch lists and closeouts.
  • Clean police record, valid driver’s license and own means of reliable transportation is a must.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
