Job Description

Cayman Theraplay is looking for a Occupation Therapist to Join the team. Applicate must have a Bachelors in Occupational Therapy (Masters Preferred) and be licensed with the Cayman Island Health Board CPAM. Therapist must have sensory integration training and a SIPT certification is preferred. Application must also have a minimum of 3 years working with pediatrics with a minimum of 3 years working as an Occupational Therapist.

Job Description

Evaluating and treating patients with occupational performance disorders/delays, demonstrating knowledge of normal development and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate services in areas of self-care and play skills involving motor, sensory integrative, cognitive, and psychosocial functions; providing care as outlined in standards of care section of the Policies & Procedures Manual; using pediatric based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age and disability of children. Establishes appropriate treatment plans with age-appropriate goals and target timeframes, which are discussed with family and mutually agreed upon; building and maintaining rapport within the department, hospital, and community, professionally interacting with physicians, families, and hospital/community personnel. This includes preparation and participation in in-service training programs on regular basis. Supervises and directs interns and students, providing input into their performance evaluations; organizing, develops, implements, and coordinates occupational performance of patient care with other disciplines within the Cayman and resources within the community, including discharge planning via charting, letters, and care conferences. This includes patient/family teaching for appropriate function within the home and implementation of home programs and maintaining appropriate documentation, in compliance with U.S. and UK standards, including standard of practice as regulated by CPAM.
