Handyman

Our company AMPHORN & SEAGAL MECHANICAL (ASM) is looking for a Handyman. Who is a professional experienced in providing high-quality maintenance, repairs and installation services. And general home improvement residential and commercial, construction related projects. And basic understanding with HVAC-R systems.

Key Responsibilities

• General Repairs and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks for residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Fix issues such as leaky faucets, squeaky doors, broken fixtures, or damaged drywall.
• Plumbing Basic Tasks: Unclog drains, repair leaks, replace faucets, and install basic plumbing fixtures.
• Electrical Basic Work: Replace light bulbs and battery-operated smoke detectors
• Carpentry: Build, repair, or install items such as shelves, doors, cabinets, and furniture. Handle minor framing, trim work, and drywall installation/repair.
• Painting and Finishing: Paint interior and exterior surfaces. Patch and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and priming.
• Installation Services: Install appliances, TVs, window blinds and other fixtures.
• Safety and Code Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations.

Identify and report safety hazards.

• Tool and Equipment Management: Maintain and use tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Keep inventory of tools and supplies.

• Customer Service: Communicate with clients to understand job requirements. Provide professional, courteous service and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
• Project Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent. Report progress and issues to supervisors or clients when applicable.
• Preventative Maintenance: Inspect property regularly for potential problems. Recommend preventative measures to avoid future repairs.
• Emergency Repairs: Respond to urgent repair requests, such as broken locks or burst pipes. Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice of emergency.
• Performance: Work under pressure, handle stressful situations and maintain flexibility.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Maintain high-quality glazing installations to ensure customer satisfaction and uphold the company’s reputation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Handyman or similar role.
• Experience using welding equipment, hand tools, and fabrication machinery.
• Sound understanding of workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of construction and installation work.
• Clean Police Record and valid Driver’s license

Benefits: Vacation, Health Insurance and Pension. This role offers an hourly salary of CI$8.75 to CI$12.00, depending on experience and performance, with an expected schedule of 45 hours per week.
