Senior Interior Designer

Frederick + McRae Ltd. requires a Senior Interior Designer who is passionate about interior design, have a strong design sense and possess visualization skills. Corporate Office design experience is essential, Residential experience would be an asset.

Position Description

• Lead efforts for the project from concept design through to project closeout
• Prepare and coordinate the project team as required
• Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization, mood boards and hand-sketching
• Develop space plans, project budget, schedule and programming documentation
• Selections and specifications of finish materials and furniture
• Lead in the preparation of design and construction documents to generate detailed design solutions
• Interface with clients, contractors, and consultants. Lead project meetings & client presentations
• Organize and prioritize own work efforts as well as assist with organizing team members, tasks and meetings
• Administer contract documents, bids & negotiations including construction administration
• Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFI’s
• Contribute to a team approach through the spirit of collaboration
• Mentoring and management of junior and intermediate designers
• An understanding of building codes and building systems

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
• Minimum 10 years of commercial and residential interior design experience
• Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills
• Understanding the financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget
• Strong knowledge of the design process, including specification of materials, FF&E, and colour
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator & Photoshop.
• Desire and ability to work in a creative, service-oriented environment and prioritize while performing on multiple projects simultaneously
• Resilient to coping with client demands & able to prioritize duties and work effectively

Salary Range: KYD $90,000 - $115,000 per annum. Health & Pension as per law
