Job Description

Role Overview The Compliance Analyst – Pensions is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance within the pensions function, ensuring adherence to the Cayman Islands National Pensions Act and guidance issued by the Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP). The role provides oversight of operational changes, supports delinquency and regulatory queries, and serves as a key compliance resource and point of escalation for the pensions team. The role is open to suitably qualified Caymanians. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the Cayman Islands National Pensions Act and related regulations for assigned clients.
  • Validate and approve updates to employer and member records, maintaining data integrity and adherence to internal governance and compliance standards. Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks, control deficiencies, and regulatory breaches, ensuring appropriate remediation actions and documentation in line with risk management frameworks. Administer employer delinquency processes, including calculation and verification of contribution arrears, structuring and monitoring payment arrangements, and tracking remediation actions.
  • Liaise with and respond to regulatory bodies, including the Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP), supporting inspections, enquiries, and formal investigations. Perform pre-issuance compliance reviews of employer accounts to support the issuance of Certificates of Compliance and Letters of Good Standing, ensuring all statutory obligations have been satisfied.
  • Oversee and control the employer onboarding lifecycle, including due diligence, data verification, and completeness checks, ensuring compliance with internal SLAs and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation, training and maintenance of training materials.
  • Act as a key internal point of contact for compliance-related queries- Provide technical guidance, oversight, and quality assurance support to Pension Administrators. Contribute to the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of the Cayman Islands National Pensions Act and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and apply it to operational processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in regulatory correspondence.
  • Proven leadership and coaching ability.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) or professional compliance qualification such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pensions administration, compliance, or a regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience with pension delinquency, regulatory reporting, and compliance monitoring is highly desirable.
  • Appointment as a Notary Public or Justice of the Peace (JP) in the Cayman Islands is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading and supporting a team.

Compensation

  • USD $ USD 70-85,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications
