Air Conditioning Technician

Grand Pavilion Assets Ltd. is looking for an Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. The role will be primarily responsible for helping to maintain the air conditioning systems of The Grand Pavilion commercial property. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Performing day-to-day preventative maintenance of the cooling systems of a large commercial property.
• Responding to tenant reports of mechanical or system issues.
• Evaluating issues and performing basic repairs if required or notifying the Property Manager of issues requiring extensive repair.
• Using and maintaining tools and light machinery.
• Maintaining areas including utility rooms and the large commercial equipment plant, as well as assisting with maintaining communal areas in the building, property parking lot, recycling centre, patio and walkways.
• Following safety guidelines for applying chemicals and using tools and equipment.
• Executing property Hurricane Preparedness procedures requiring on call status.
• Assisting contracted vendors when required.
• Any other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

The successful candidate will possess the following

• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Daiken and LG chillers essential.
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance.
• Must be familiar with a range of power tools and machinery.
• Must have valid Cayman Islands Driver’s Licence.
• Must be able to lift heavy loads and work outside for long periods of time.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness and ability to be on call at all times and to frequently work outside regular hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as and when required to complete tasks and to meet deadlines.

This position is based on a 45hr work week, with regular hours being 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday and 2.5 hours scheduled for the weekend. Remuneration: KYD 14.00 – 19.50 per hour with a benefits package that includes Pension and Insurance.
