Estimator / Construction Supervisor

Job Description

• Meet and communicate with clients; drive to sites for assessments
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including Bills of Quantities
• Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance works
• Assist in feasibility studies and defining client requirements
• Perform risk, value management, and cost control
• Advise on procurement strategies
• Identify, analyze, and respond to commercial risks
• Prepare and analyze tender costings
• Allocate work to subcontractors
• Provide advice on contractual claims
• Analyze project outcomes and prepare detailed progress reports
• Value completed work and arrange payments
• Maintain awareness of current building contracts
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Supervise subcontractors, including selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring
• Travel to job sites
• Plan, oversee, and implement construction activities
• Define project scope, allocate resources, and establish standards and protocols
• Resolve design issues and adjust schedules as needed
• Monitor project expenses and identify variances
• Conduct inspections at critical phases
• Maintain operational standards and contribute to strategic planning
• Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with legal regulations
• Prepare site reports and documentation

• Minimum 10 years of field trade experience, project management, and site supervision
• Strong leadership, managerial, and client negotiation skills
• Experience in estimating, proposals, and procurement methods
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of submittals, shop drawings, change orders, punch lists, and closeout procedures
• Ability to develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and schedules
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to manage performance of in-house crews and subcontractors
• Proficiency in resource coordination, material scheduling, and MS Project
• Ability to manage Safety and QA policies and procedures
• Strong computer skills; AutoCAD experience is an asset
