Appleby (Cayman) Ltd. are seeking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our firm in a dual-support role spanning the Dispute Resolution and Corporate Practice Groups. The successful candidate will support the knowledge management function within the dispute resolution team. In this capacity, the post-holder will be expected to develop and maintain knowledge resources (precedents, practice notes, research), conduct legal research and track regulatory/case law updates, support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives, and assist with the management of document systems and databases. The candidate will be expected to support the distribution of, on a timely basis, any emerging case law, legislative or regulatory developments which may impact fee-earners. The successful candidate will be expected to assist with drafting, sanitizing, maintaining and updating high quality KM documents for fee-earners, and to mitigate risk to Appleby by ensuring that only approved material or contributions are acquired for KM repositories. The candidate will also support the corporate technology and innovation team by providing legal and administrative support on technology-related transactions and assist with due diligence and transaction documents. The candidate will also be expected to conduct legal research specific to this service offering and collaborate with relevant parties on any other ad-hoc projects. Given the nature of this role, a recognized legal or paralegal qualification is required. Applicants must have a minimum of two years’ experience within a paralegal or fee earning legal role. The ideal candidate will possess exposure to both dispute resolution and corporate/technology and innovation matters, plus familiarity or interest in knowledge systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent drafting, organisational, and research skills, along with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is proficiency in legal technology and document management systems (i.e. iManage).
